Being a high school student-athlete involves a great deal of time and commitment. Despite all of the hours of practice and school work, many of our Angel athletes find time to volunteer in the community. This winter season, we are proud to report that the Angel Boys Basketball team and the Angel Boys Soccer team spent some time volunteering and working with children in the community.
In January, the Angel Boys Basketball team brought toys and food down to the HALO homeless shelter. They also spent a few hours playing games with the children there. They played games like Operation, Uno, and Scrabble; and the kids loved it! It was a great experience for all those involved, and the Angels plan to make this an annual event.
In February, the Angel Boys Soccer team volunteer at Adaptive Sports Night at the YMCA. This programs provide children and adults with physical limitations and other special needs the chance to play sports and participate in learning opportunities in a safe, fun atmosphere. The Angels volunteer at this event every year, and they always enjoy the opportunity to make an impact on the young kids in the program. It was another successful volunteer opportunity for the Angels, and they are already looking forward to next year's event!
